26 Aug Super Moon at Joshua Tree

During a recent trip to Joshua Tree, I had planned to spend an evening doing some astrophotography. I didn’t realize the trip would be timed with a “super moon”, an extremely bright full moon. While my images of the stars had to wait, I was treated to a moonlit hike through one of the world’s greatest desert landscapes, Joshua Tree. The moon was so bright that I could see my shadow clear and crisp on the sand. The hike took us to ancient petroglyphs left by indigenous people, glowing in blue moonlight. A truly unique experience.
